NO TO MANIFESTO'S

YES TO

INTERVENTION

and YES, this IS a manifesto.

I am the co-director of projectLIMB, a multidisciplinary performance group and education program based in Broolyn, NY. projectLIMB's most recent work, A Part, a duet created and performed by Christine Cali and Gabriel Forestieri was performed in the Hollins Fall Gathering in Nov 2006. The work was revised and later performed in the Cool New York Festival at White Wave Dance in January 2006 receiving the following review on criticaldance.com:

"A Part," performed by Christine Cali and Gabriel Forestieri of projectLIMB, was a hysterical, poignant piece that explored the fears and hopes of an artist’s life. It was well stated and poetic, ending with the hope of a dream. Forestieri is a beautifully grounded mover, and both dancers mastered the skill of speaking while dancing quite artfully.

Another Quote by Rachel Howard, San Francisco Examiner

"Cali took the stage for her Truth, a duet with Todd Courage. Cali is one of the most ferocious, spellbinding dancers I've seen in this city (San Francisco). Her gritty snapshot of shifting dependencies saw Courage ascend through the audience toward a blinding light and Cali fade into black.

I taught Movement Studio1 at Hollins this year. Teaching beinning dance students is challenging in the best way. They are like sponges. I learned so much about myself from watching them.

The inspring and generous David Dorfman worked with me this year as an artist mentor and overall supporter. I accompanied him to Wesleyan Illinois University for a 2 week residency in January. We created a special work on a group of 16 students. I was also able to teach dance technique classes and movement for actors (which was really interesting).

This year my little sister had her first baby (a boy) and my mom had her appendix out simultaneously. I also attended the CORD Conference(Conference on Research in Dance) in Montreal in November.
